Under the Whispering Door is story of life seen through the eyes of death. And TJ Klune tells it in a fashion that leaves nothing, absolutely nothing, to the readers imagination. The first half of the book was excruciatingly long, the second half agonizingly detailed, the entire story unsurprisingly predictable, the whole experience a contrived attempt to evoke the response that this is a feelgood story.
