Book Reviews

Honest takes and literary discoveries from my bookshelf.

There was a time if the author’s name was not Kalki, Sujatha, or Asimov, I would probably give that book a disdainful sniff the way Artemis, my cat would scoff at food not to her liking. I would rather re-read one of their books for the Nth time than pick up a new author.

All that changed during the pandemic. I started reading without boundaries in both fiction and nonfiction categories. I discovered several new authors, Angela Davis, Ta-Nehesi Coates, James Baldwin, P. G. Wodehouse, Perumal Murugan, Su. Venkatesan, Ursula Le Guin, Ted Chiang, Richard Osman, Blake Crouch, and Keigo Higashino to name a few. I went beyond my comfort zone and learned about race, caste, Kashmir, and America.

What started out as a simple mechanism to keep track of books I’ve read has now evolved into a respectable collection of reviews. And I am happy to share it with you in this section.
